The B5Media network:

What to Read When You Have Lots and Lots of Time

On September 14, 2008, author David Foster Wallace was found dead in his home in California at the age of 46.  While the literary world reels from the author’s suicide, the rest of the world is learning about one of his best and longest works, Infinite Jest.

Wallace’s magnum opus is over a thousand pages long, but is some of the best literature has to offer.  It has nothing to do with Hawai’i really, but if you happen to find yourself at the library, or on the beach for, oh, say twenty years, Infinite Jest is a long-lasting tome that will serve you well.  If you’re the non-committal type, you can’t lose with McSweeney’s tributes to and memories of David Foster Wallace.

Get your hankies out, a lot of these are exercises in tear-jerking of the best kind.
