I Stand Corrected

While I usually try and avoid sensationalist topics, I must admit that I’m fascinated by the action continuing over at ‘Iolani Palace on Oahu.
Since my May 1st post entitled Peaceful Protests Close Iolani Palace, I’ve learned that, according to Hawaiian Kingdom Government’s leader, Mahealani Kahau, I was wrong on two counts.
The Honolulu Advertiser reported Friday, that, “Despite widespread media reports, Kahau said it is incorrect to call the Hawaiian Kingdom Government a ’sovereignty group’ or even ‘protesters.’” Looks like I referred to them as both protesters and a sovereignty group.
The HKG have occupied the palace grounds since April 30, most recently under a permit from the grounds’ authority, Department of Land and Natural Resources.

Very classy Jody! Your posts highlights an interesting angle that the media takes when they label various groups, in Hawaii, and elsewhere. I commend you for making the clarification.
