Update: No Wastewater Reached Ocean in Maui Spill

This just in (but not really, since this news is from two weeks ago):  It looks like none of the wastewater spilled in a Maui construction mishap reached the ocean, according to KHNL Channel 8. 
Luckily, the spill was contained, captured, and the area was disinfected before waters reached the drainage systems leading to the sea.  In other news, the weather is still awesome.

This just in:  According to Congresswoman Mazie K. Hirono (D-Hawai’i), the U.S. Department of Education will present a grant of $682,982 to the Native Hawaiian-Serving Institutions Program at the University of Hawai’i at Hilo.The University of Hawai’i at Hilo will use the money to establish the Center for Pacific Islander Education and Retention by renovating an existing campus facility.
