The Pride Week That Almost Wasn’t

Gay pride honolulu 2007It’s gay pride month, and if you were in the know about LGBTQ happenings in Hawai’i, you knew that, in February, the 2008 annual pride parade in Honolulu was slated for cancellation. That was until three very ambitious folks took the reigns and, on the fly, created the Pride Festival Foundation (PFF).

Working from coffee shops and kitchen tables, it looks like the PFF will launch The Gathering June 27th and 28th, 2008, a celebration of ohana and diversity in the community.
